About Us

Brisbane Piano Accompanist services are provided by the husband and wife team of Nicholas and Katrina Trevatt.  Having lived on the south side of Brisbane most of our lives we have developed strong relationships with our local school music teachers and private instrumental teachers.  

We have been prominent piano teachers on the southside of Brisbane for 20 years with many student success stories including:
  • Several successful Queensland Conservatorium of Music auditions and acceptance.
  • Queensland Piano Competition winners and finalists.
  • Several successful AMEB diploma candidates.
  • High distinction (A+) exam results across all grades.

Nicholas Trevatt B.Mus, Dip.Mus, L.T.C.L., A.T.C.L.
  • Nicholas started piano lessons at the age of 5 with Beverly Read in New Zealand.  
  • At age 15 he began lessons with leading Brisbane accompanist and Conservatorium piano lecturer, Valerie Dickson.  
  • He began studying under Professor Natasha Vlassenko in his second year at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and graduated with the Diploma of Music in 1994.  
  • In 1996 he graduated with the Bachelor of Music and continued in 1997 to undertake postgraduate studies in pianoforte performance.
  • Nicholas was awarded both the Licentiate (L.T.C.L.) and Associate (A.T.C.L.) Performing Diplomas from Trinity College London. 
  • Nicholas is a past board member of the Music Teacher's Association of Queensland.
  • Nicholas is an instrumental specialist teacher in piano at Redeemer Lutheran College.



Katrina Trevatt B.Mus, A.Mus.A
  • Katrina studied under Professors Natasha Vlassenko and Stephen Savage, graduating with the Bachelor of Music Degree in 1996 from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. 
  • In 1997 she undertook postgraduate studies in pianoforte performance at the Conservatorium. 
  • Katrina also gained the Associate Diploma of Music (A.Mus.A.) from the Australian Music Examinations Board. 
  • Katrina is also a professional member of the Accompanists’ Guild of Queensland and regularly provides her services for AMEB exams, local schools choirs and student performances.
